Mini Drone Aerial Photography Course: A Soaring Experience

We were honoured to collaborate again with Shek Lei Catholic Secondary School in early 2025, delivering an advanced mini drone aerial photography course to provide students with comprehensive drone knowledge and flight experience.

Our mini drone aerial photography course has been very popular. The curriculum is divided into three parts: fundamental theory, flight practice and project production, designed progressively to build students' knowledge and interest.

Part 1: Fundamental Theory

Instructors explained drone-related knowledge using real-life examples, covering basic structure, electronic sensors (gyroscopes, accelerometers, VPS, GPS), aerodynamics, and aerial photography composition techniques.

Part 2: Flight Practice

Before flying, students learned about the Small Unmanned Aircraft Order and related regulations. They then experienced actual flights with instructor support, completing tasks including designated routes, specific manoeuvres and simple aerial photography.

Part 3: Multimedia Project

Students were divided into groups to create short films about their school, applying filming and flying skills. After shooting, groups edited their work and shared results in class.
