2023 — Salesian School Innovative Drone Coding Course: Embodying INSPIRE's Creative Teaching

At INSPIRE Education, we firmly believe innovative teaching methods are crucial for developing students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This 14-session drone coding course in collaboration with Salesian School embodies our educational philosophy.

From the very beginning, our instructors used creative methods to introduce drone technology and explain the structure and components of the Tello Talent drone. They created diverse teaching scenarios allowing students to learn basic coding with the Tello EDU app while operating the drones.

Throughout the course, instructors guided students to use their coding skills to create interesting programmes, such as controlling drones to simulate traffic light scenarios or performing group drone flights.

Final Performance

The final showcase was particularly noteworthy. Students manually controlled two aerial drones through hula hoops held by classmates. Others used drone cameras to capture aerial campus views displayed live on a big screen.

Students further demonstrated their programming skills by writing code in Tello EDU to make drones automatically execute a series of actions including takeoff, direction changes, and colour transitions.
