2023 One-Day Drone Crash Course — Private Group of 4 with Transport

INSPIRE's instructors not only lead drone experience courses for primary and secondary schools, but also offer private classes. Courses can be tailored to students' needs, allowing them to choose what they want to learn or practise within limited time, maximising class efficiency.

In this one-day drone crash course, the programme was divided into four parts: Introduction, Small Drone Test Flight (Tello), Large Drone Test Flight (Mavic), and Video Editing (DaVinci Resolve).

Course Content

Introduction: The instructor first introduces drone flight principles, structure, and Civil Aviation Department regulations for outdoor drone operation. After covering basic drone knowledge, the session moves to basic aerial photography techniques and skills.

Small Drone Test Flight (Tello): The instructor guides students through a Tello mini-drone test flight, focusing on training dual-hand synchronous drone control and hand-eye coordination.

Large Drone Test Flight (Mavic): The instructor and students drive to an outdoor location for aerial drone test flights, learning gimbal control. Students are encouraged to demonstrate the aerial photography techniques introduced earlier in a safe environment.

Video Editing: Finally, students learn to use DaVinci Resolve under the instructor's guidance, quickly editing the footage captured during the outdoor session into a short video.
